Abstract
Za terenski del smo uporabili ročno GPS napravo Garmin CSx 60 in z njo posneli vse vlake v oddelkih 55a in 57, v revirju Ravna gora.

Abstract:
Up-to-date condition of wood traffic roads (wood roads and wood sledges) is one of the greatest significance in the rational planning of wood production. Because most of the available map material doesnćt completely meet the actual state on the field, we wanted with this research project to investigate the secondary and to examine the primary wood openness on the level of two departments. For our field work we used manual GPS device Garmin CSx 60, with which we recorded all sledges on the departments 55a and 57 in district Ravna gora. Then we transfered the information from GPS to the computer and processed it with the program MapInfo. Around every sledge we draw a zone, which represented 45 meters the length of wire rope on the wood tractor. From the results we have got we can see the actual openness of the department with wood sledges and the actual bringing distance. Now also a method exists, with which district foresters and other experts will be able to process the information on field and at home and thus get all the necessary information for a part of their work. The wood openness in the departments is very important information for the Slovenian Wood institute, the owner of the wood and also for the performing enterprises. With new and better information it will be easier to plan wood production and also future wood opening on primaryand secondary level.
