Abstract
Misija NASA GEDI (Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation) zagotavlja visokokakovostne meritve vertikalne strukture gozdov. Diplomska naloga zajema pregled podatkov, preverbo kakovosti, odstranitev slabih podatkov, izpeljavo GEDI produktov stopnje obdelave L2A in L2B, kot so višina krošenj, nadmorska višina, meritve RH, indeks listne površine in gostota prostornine vegetacije ter pretvorbo v primeren format (GeoJSON), ki omogoča analizo v odprtokodnem programu QGIS. V QGIS-u so podatki grafično prikazani.

Title:NASA GEDI Mission Data Analysis
Abstract:
The NASA GEDI (Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation) mission provides high-quality measurements of vertical forest structure. The thesis includes data overview, quality verification, removal of poor data, derivation of GEDI Level 2A and 2B products such as canopy height, elevation, RH measurements, leaf area index, and vegetation volume density, followed by conversion into an appropriate format (GeoJSON) for analysis in the open-source QGIS software. In QGIS, the data is visually represented. Lastly, a comparison between GEDI canopy heights and data from the Slovenian Forestry Institute and the Slovenian Forestry Research Institute is conducted. Based on the differences, the practical utility of the global GEDI dataset on Slovenian territory is assessed.
