Foreign languages, including French, have been part of the study programs of the Faculty of
Economics of the University of Ljubljana since its establishment in 1946. Didactics have thus
evolved according to the development of the Faculty’s programs and mostly to its
internationalization which has intensified since 2010. Links with French business schools
(Erasmus, double degree) have had a significant impact on students’ interest in French and
French for beginners especially. The paper presents the stages of the course design from
needs analysis in 2014/15, to the development of the syllabus and the handout in 2020,
until the implementation in 2020/21 of the complete course on the Canvas platform, which
includes exercises, quizzes, and exams for students, as well as the implementation of a
complete system of support for students.
