Urban forests with their presence and functioning in the immediate vicinity ofthe city Celje have substantial effect on the quality of physical and psychical living conditions of the inhabitants in Celje. These forests represent a balanced natural ecological system towards the exstremes of urban environment. In this paperwork the meaning and the development of these forests in the last decade are presented. Besides counting of recreation visitors in the city forest Anski vrh, where numeric pointers of recreation are handled, we were also interested in the human relationship towards the state of the city forests, their arrangements for entertainment purposes and any suggestions for good managing of these forests. The results of counting the visits in the forest and the questionnaires show that people living in thecity love coming into the forest of Anski vrh. Among all other city forestsin the neighbourhood represents a peculiar and the biggest city park in the region of Celje meant for city inhabitants to relax and entertain in a preserved natural environment.
