Abstract
Magistrsko delo obravnava vzroke, posledice in preprečevanje izgorelosti na delovnem mestu. Teoretični del magistrskega dela vključuje opredelitev izgorelosti na delovnem mestu ter opis procesa izgorevanja. Vsebuje vzroke za izgorelost na delovnem mestu, vpliv osebnostnih lastnosti zaposlenih na izgorelost, znake in simptome izgorelosti na delovnem mestu, posledice izgorelosti na delovnem mestu ter načine preprečevanja izgorelosti na delovnem mestu, vezane na posameznika in organizacijo. Kot kaže pregledana literatura, je izgorelost na delovnem mestu velik družben problem, ki ga je treba omejevati in preprečevati. Posledice izgorelosti so negativne tako za posameznika kot za celotno organizacijo, zato se v ta namen že izvajajo različni preventivni ukrepi, ki temeljijo na preprečevanju izgorelosti na delovnem mestu. V empiričnem delu magistrskega dela smo s pomočjo delno strukturiranega intervjuja opravili kvalitativno raziskavo. Vzorec vključuje štiri posameznike, zaposlene na različnih delovnih mestih. Zanimalo nas je, kateri so najpogostejši vzroki, ki se pojavljajo na delovnem mestu, kako izgorelost vpliva na zdravje in produktivnost zaposlenih ter kako lahko posameznik ali organizacija pripomoreta k preprečevanju izgorelosti na delovnem mestu.

Title:Burnout in the Workplace: Causes, consequences and Prevention
Abstract:
This master’s thesis addresses the causes, consequences and prevention of a burnout in the workplace. The theoretical part of the thesis includes characterization of a burnout in the workplace and a description of its process. It includes the causes for a workplace burnout, the influence of employees’ personality characteristics, the signs and symptoms of a burnout, the consequences, and ways of prevention linked to an individual and an organisation. As the reviewed literature shows, workplace burnout is a major social problem, which needs to be limited and prevented. The consequences of a burnout are as negative for an individual, as for an entire organisation, which is why various preventive measures are being taken, based on the prevention of a burnout in the workplace. In the empirical part of the master’s thesis, we have conducted qualitative research through a semi-structured interview. The sample included four individuals, employed in different workplaces. We were interested in the most common causes of a burnout in the workplace, how a burnout affects the health and productivity on the employees, and how can and an individual and an organisation contribute to the prevention of a workplace burnout.
