Abstract
Podatke smo zbrali z intervjujem.

Title:Experiencing changes in occupations of an individual who recovered from a severe case of covid-19 - a case study : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Covid-19 is an infectious disease that causes only a mild or moderate respiratory infection in those infected. The majority of those infected therefore do not need special treatment. For some, especially people with heart problems, diabetes, cancer or chronic respiratory diseases, serious complications and death can occur. In the acute phase, breathing problems occur, in the chronic phase, these problems begin to improve and musculoskeletal problems, pain due to prolonged lying down, balance problems, weakness, cognitive and mental problems appear. That is why comprehensive occupational therapy treatment, which is adapted to the individual, is also important. Occupational therapy therefore represents an important part of rehabilitation, which includes relearning everyday activities that enable a full and as independent life as possible. Purpose: The purpose of the thesis was to investigate the experience of illness and changes in a person's occupations after recovering from a severe form of covid-19. The thesis’ main interest was to investigate what problems a person encounters in the implementation of occupations, how he solves them, how a person experiences changes in occupations and how he faces them. Methods: A case study of one user was conducted. Data were collected through interview. Results: The problems faced by the person after recovering from covid-19 were lack of independence in daily activities, difficulties in preparing food, problems in work and leisure time, problems in sitting, moving up the stairs and mobility. Due to the difficulties in carrying out the occupations, the person experienced fear, feelings of annoyance and guilt, anger, feelings of incompetence and helplessness, and missed her job. When dealing with negative emotions and problems, the person was most helped by a positive social environment, help, encouragement and conversations with family, friends and health professionals, especially occupational therapists. Discussion and conclusion: After recovering from a severe form of covid-19, a participant in our case study faced many problems that limited her involvement in occupations. Therefore, she initially experienced negative feelings such as fear and anger, but towards the end of the rehabilitation, she also began to experience positive feelings such as pride and happiness. With occupational therapy treatment, she became independent in carrying out daily activities and occupations. During rehabilitation, she needed good social support for successful treatment.
