This diploma thesis discusses the stock of materials for learning Slovene as a non-first (second and foreign) language, and the layout and demand for this type of material in Bežigrad Library. An important task of general and school libraries is to help foreigners who need to learn Slovene for the needs of everyday communication in a Slovene-speaking society to integrate into the local community as quickly as possible. This is made possible mainly by learning material suitable for foreign-speaking users, which is obtained by librarians from the Procurement Department with the help of inspection copies. Employees of the Bežigrad Library advise foreigners when borrowing works, especially professionally designed reading materials intended for learning Slovene. The thesis also contains a bibliography of the entire library collection in the Bežigrad Library in the field of learning Slovene. From the statistical review of borrowing, it is possible to get an idea of the frequency of borrowing of certain types of materials from the already mentioned library.
