The diploma thesis focuses on the development of a terminal emulator in the C programming language. Despite the vast availability of such applications in the market, this topic represents a significant educational contribution, as it provides students and other interested parties with insights into the operation and principles of terminal functionality. The thesis highlights the need for understanding and implementing complex mechanisms such as command interpretation, file management, and interaction with the processor. Using the C language, we developed a simple yet functional terminal emulator, serving as an educational tool for understanding the terminal system. The greatest achievement of the thesis is the efficiency and simplicity of the developed emulator, which facilitates easier understanding of terminal operations.
