The graduation thesis deals with the dinamics of development and number of population spruce bark beetle Ips typographus (L.) and spruce bark beetle Pityogenes alcographus (L.) (Coleoptera: Scolytidae) in the forest management unit Medvode. he catches of spruce bark beetles and other species of Arthropoda were investigated on ifferent locations, sites and sea-heights withPheroprax- and Chalcoprax-baited heysohn slot traps. We were sampling frommarch to including september in 2004. The eather data for the meteorologicstations Ljubljana and Brnik were acquired on Agency or environment in the repulic of Slovenia. Among both spruce bark beetles were cathed n the Theysohn slot traps other insects and Arthropods. A correlation analysis has shown hat there are negative correlations beetwen catches of Ips typographus (L.) and sea eights and average monthly relative humidity and negative correlation beetwen catches Pityogenes chalcographus (L.) and average monthly relative humidity. On the other and a rrelation analysis has shown a positive correlation beetwen catches of ityogenes chalcographus (L.) and average monthly temperature of air.
