Abstract

Title:A supportive working environment for older workers - the social partners' perspective : magistrsko delo
Abstract:
Demographic data shows an ageing population in Slovenia, as well as in Europe, leading to an increase in the ratio between the retired and the working population. Employers, workers and the state have different views on working in older age. This is a unique challenge for everyone. There are already several ideas in the world on how to adapt work environments to older workers to help them remain actively working. Our research was focused on the perspectives of social partners on this topic. How do they respond to the aging of workers. How is the position of older workers regulated in collective agreements? And what opportunities do they see for adapting working environments for older workers? All five interviewees agree that the population is ageing and that this poses a challenge. However, they have different views on adapting working environments. It seems that social partners find it difficult to find a common consensus due to the different interests represented in social dialogue.
