Abstract
Nato objekt prevzame rafinerija INA in postane športno rekreacijski center in hotel. Od leta 2008 objekt ni v uporabi in propada. Magistrska naloga skozi sodobno interpretacijo ponuja idejo o prenovi in ??razširitvi kompleksa nekdanje Planinske kolonije.

Title:
Conceptual design of the Children's center on Učka
Abstract:
The master thesis proposes to renovate the area of a mountain colony built in 1936 for children suffering from tuberculosis. The project consists of the renovation of the colony building with the addition of new volumes. The mountain colony was established during the fascist rule in Kvarner and was used for health purposes. The INA refinery then took over the facility and became a sports and recreation center and hotel. Since 2008, the facility has been out of use and falling into disrepair. The master thesis, through a contemporary interpretation, proposes the idea of renovating and extending the complex of the former Mountain Colony. The work, based on spatial analysis and a survey of programmatic needs, seeks to renew the original architectural values of the existing building and to design new facilities and programs that fit the experience of the complex. The aim of the project is to offer a conceptual solution for the renovation and extension of the complex into a Children’s Centre. By valorizing the new and the old, I want to create a complex that offers a break from everyday life while gaining new knowledge and experience. I am combining contrasts, the old building had to be enriched with new additions, the old glory had to be restored with new materials, a building where history is written, brought closer and made attractive for the youngest. To respect tradition in a modern way, to build but respect nature.
