The programme Slovene at Foreign Universities (STU) comes under the Centre for Slovene as a Second or Foreign Language at the Department for Slovene Studies at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. Its mission is to co-ordinate lectureships and Slovene study programmes at foreign universities, as well as to establish and maintain contact with teachers and foreign universities that offer study programmes in Slovene. A contribution to the promotion abroad of the Slovene language, Slovene Studies, Slovene research and Slovenia itself has been made not only by high quality study programmes, but also by international projects that have been carried out in recent years at all the foreign universities in the network.
