This thesis describes the path from idea to the product. The product is a device called a laboratory power supply, which is capable of converting the AC voltage from a socket outlet into an adjustable DC voltage. A laboratory power supply is used to test and develop circuits. The purpose of building the power supply is primarily to increase knowledge in the field of voltage regulation and ultimately for later use in a home laboratory. The focus of the thesis is on the design and implementation of the voltage regulator. The thesis goes through the stages from theory, design, development to the implementation of a power supply that allows adjustable voltage from 0 to 25 V and adjustable current limit from 0 to 4 A. The last part of the thesis is devoted to the presentation of implementation problems and possible improvements.
