The thesis deals with the characteristic features of Dane Zajac's literary creations, categorized as drama. Zajec's dramatics is characterized in particular by the genre of poetic drama, which in the narrower sense is determined by the duality of the empirical world and the world beyond the empirical. The analysis of the voice reveals a sort of duality of it, which justifies it as the bearer of Zajc's plays, as well as its connection with the visual. This leads us to the consideration of puppetry as a possible performance medium for Zajc's texts. The semiotic system of the puppet differs significantly from the semiotic system of dramatic performance, and in these differences some correspondences with poetic drama are revealed, which offer a fruitful creative space.
