The following master’s thesis entitled Strategies and Conceptual Designs of the Spatial Development of Roma Settlements describes the creation and development of Roma settlements over time and presents their further development. Data for this thesis was obtained through books and with help of the internet. As primary source I chose the publication named ’Roma and Roma settlements in Slovenia’, designed by Jernej Župančič. The idea of the master’s thesis was to create a model that would help all Roma residents (and also planners) to better arrangement/planning, better quality of living in a Roma settlement and greater social inclusion in Slovenian space, regardless of their level of arrangement at the time. At the beginning of the master’s thesis, I presented their development over time, the selected locations where the Roma settled and their characteristics of settlement formation, the problems faced by the Roma inhabitants and the equipment and functions of the settlements. Then I chose six Roma settlements from different regions of Slovenia (Prekmurje, Dolenjska with Kočevska and Posavje) which I later analyzed and with their help identified the differences of the Roma settlements, to help with the universal scheme for the development of the Roma settlements that was later developed/created. To conclude, I applied the scheme for the development of Roma settlements in the strategies and conceptual designs of three existing Roma settlements in Slovenia.
