The thesis concerns itself with the experiences and opinions of participants in Slovene-as-a-second-language courses. In the theoretical part, it presents the characteristics of the learning processes and the established approaches to language teaching in the courses. It demonstrates the importance of the role of teacher in successful language learning and examines the characteristics of learning Slovene as a second language. It looks at the reasons for attending a Slovene course, the participants' opinion on the importance of various organisational factors of the course, their well-being during the course, their satisfaction with the group, the teacher, and the knowledge acquired, and also focuses on their general opinion on the teachers of Slovene-as-a-second-language courses.
