In my thesis, I devoted myself to researching the speech of five-year-olds. At first, I focused on speech, the stages of development and the factors that influence it, and then I engaged in research that dealt with the differences between the sexes in Slovenia, but I also relied on foreign ones. In the continuation of the work, I also did a practical part, that is, I compared the stories of a five-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy with the audio-visual material that I recorded and identified the differences in their stories. The child and one of the parents read two fairy tales and reconstructed them, and then they reconstructed both fairy tales for me. I was interested in the extent to which their way of telling will change when they restore the story to me. Both mothers helped me with the empirical work.
