Virtual archaeology and, consequently, virtual 3D reconstructions are currently a topic that is still very much in development, but which is already leaving a strong imprint. In this thesis, virtual archaeology is briefly introduced, from the excavation itself to the subsequent validation of the data and the visualisation and presentation of the processed data. Zgornji stolp na Kranclju nad Škofjo Loko is also presented, as it has been the subject of two reconstructions, both physical and virtual. At the end of the thesis, a hypothetical procedure for the virtual reconstruction of the Zgornji stolp is presented.
