Abstract
Diplomska naloga obravnava tematiko ekološkega kmetijstva, in sicer s poudarkom na raziskavi razmer v Vipavski dolini. V prvem delu naloge so opisane značilnosti ekološkega kmetijstva, pravila, posebnosti ter prednosti takega načina kmetovanja. Predstavljeno je stanje ekološkega kmetijstva v Sloveniji, primerjalno s stanjem v drugih državah. Drugi del diplomskega dela se nanaša na analizo kmetijstva v Vipavski dolini ter prisotnosti ekoloških praks v občinah raziskanega območja. Največji delež ekoloških zemljišč zasedajo travniki in pašniki, največ ekoloških kmetij pa je prisotnih v občini Nova Gorica. Ekološko kmetijstvo v Vipavski dolini pridobiva na pomenu in prepoznavnosti. Dokaz za to je: vedno večje povpraševanje po ekoloških izdelkih oziroma pridelkih, rast števila ekoloških kmetij ter naklonjenost politike sonaravnemu načinu kmetovanja, ki koristi človeku in tudi sami naravi. Ekološko kmetijstvo ima, na podlagi anketnega raziskovanja, v Vipavski dolini še precejšen potencial, poleg tega pa ima tak način kmetovanja tudi opazno mesto v nadaljnjem razvoju kmetijstva. Prav zaradi okolju prijaznejših praks predstavlja pomemben element v boju s podnebnimi spremembami oziroma pripravami nanje.

Title:Organic farming in the Vipava Valley
Abstract:
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of organic agriculture with an emphasis on the research of the situation in the Vipava Valley. The first part of the assignment describes the characteristics of organic agriculture, the rules, peculiarities and advantages of this type of farming. The state of organic agriculture in Slovenia is also presented in relation to the state in other countries. The second part of the thesis refers to the analysis of agriculture in the Vipava Valley and the presence of organic farming practices in the municipalities of the researched area. The largest share of organic land is occupied by meadows and pastures, and the largest number of organic farms are present in the municipality of Nova Gorica. Organic agriculture in the Vipava Valley is gaining in importance and visibility. Evidence for this is the ever-increasing demand for organic products or crops, the growth in the number of organic farms, and the preference of politicians for a natural way of farming, which benefits both humans and nature itself. Based on survey research, organic farming still has considerable potential in the Vipava Valley and in addition, this type of farming has a notable place in the further development of agriculture. Because of environmentally friendly practices, it also represents an important element in the fight against climate change or preparations for it.
