In this diploma thesis, I discussed and compared Maruša Krese's novel Da me je strah? (Me, scared?) with José Saramago's novel Esej o slepoti (Blindness). The intersection of the two novels is a disease, both physical and mental, that interferes with an individual's life (in the first novel as a result of the war, and in the second one as an epidemic of white blindness that suddenly breaks out in the city). I analyzed the novels not only in terms of content, but also at the level of the narrator and narrative techniques, as well as linguistic-stylistic (symbols) and motive-thematic levels.
