The Latkova vas irrigation system (NS Latkova vas) and its pumping station are located in the Spodnja Savinjska dolina, in the municipality of Prebold, and cover 250 ha. In 2000, the association NS Latkova vas was founded with the aim of maintaining and managing the irrigation system. The pumping station NS Latkova vas was completely renovated in 2021. Based on the data on the amount of water and energy, we calculated the water and electricity consumption per hectare and per crop for the years 2021 and 2022. Hops, corn, beans, cabbage and pumpkins are grown in the area. We surveyed the members of the NS Latkova vas (13) using a standardised questionnaire with predetermined answers (demographic indicators, description of cultivated land, irrigation habits in the area of the NS Latkova vas, and external influences). According to the results, members use both a drip irrigation system and a mobile hose. The modernization of the pumping station is considered positive because the maintenance costs are lower, there are fewer operational interruptions, and the water and energy consumption is more accurately represented. In case of water source limitation or higher energy price, all of them prefer to choose hops irrigation over other crops. The members of the association agree on the construction of wet and dry reservoirs in case of floods, the water of which can be used as water source for irrigation
