SODOBNI REALIZEM KOT OKNO V DRUGO REALNOST

V svojem diplomskem delu sem raziskoval pomen in obstoj realizma v sodobni umetnosti. Sledil sem slikanju aktualnih in zgodovinskih tematik ter kritiki današnje družbe (moralnost, vera, politika). Želim, da se v mojih slikah podobe ne bi jemalo kot podobo, ampak kot medij, s katerim dobim želeno zgodbo oz. celoto; figure na sliki torej večinoma niso posamezniki, ampak splošne figure. V svojih slikah želim doseči občutek izgubljenosti v času ter okrutnost in lepoto življenja hkrati. Pri tem sem se osredotočil na nekatere umetnike, za katere mislim, da mi lahko pomagajo pri načinu oz. tehniki slikanja in razmišljanju (Michaël Borremans, Salvador Dali, Ingres, Gustave Courbet, Rudolf Španzel ...).

• Title: CONTEMPORARY REALISM AS A WINDOW INTO ANOTHER REALITY

Abstract

Follow the ways of portraying current and historical themes as well as the critique of today's society (morality, religion, politics). In my works I ask that the figures not be taken as what they are but as a medium which I use to present a larger entirety or story; they are therefore not to be taken as individuals but as general representations. I wish to bring forth a sense of disorientation within time as well as the simultaneous cruelty and beauty of life. In doing so, I would like to introduce a few artists which I believe can help me illuminate these points with their style of painting and thinking (Michaël Borremans, Salvador Dali, Ingres, Gustave Courbet, Rudolf Španzel, etc.).
