Abstract
Nato smo v Sloveniji, po dobrih 40ih letih, z veliko vloženega truda in časa, ponovno zgradili džamijo, danes Muslimanski kulturni center Ljubljana, s katerim smo odprli novo poglavje v razvoju islamske arhitekture v Sloveniji. Islamska skupnost v Sloveniji je leta 2018 kupila stavbo trgovine Merkur in okoliško območje, kjer bo omenjen objekt prenovljen in uporabljen v namene verskih obredov. Jasen vzorec rabe zemljišča in urbanih oblik, v to sodijo dramaturgija dostopa, parkirišča, vidna umestitev objektov, orientacija molitvene dvorane proti Meki, ostali objekti sledijo mreži obstoječega mesta.

Title:Conceptual design of Muslim cultural center Maribor
Abstract:
The first mosque in our territory was built in Log pod Mangart between 1916 and the early 20s of the 20th century due to religious needs, which was built by Bosnians, members of the 4th Bosnian-Herzegovinian Infantry Regiment of the Austro-Hungarian Land Army. They built a smaller mosque with a domed roof and a square minaret. a stone wall and an iron fence with a portal surrounded the mosque, the majority of which was built of hewn stone, and the vestibule was built of carved wood. With the end of the First World War, when the Bosniaks left Slovenia, the mosque began to deteriorate. When the area was then occupied by the Italians, the dilapidated building was demolished. In Slovenia, after more than 40 years, with a lot of effort and time, we built the new mosque, today called the Muslim Cultural Center of Ljubljana, with which we opened a new chapter in the development of Islamic architecture in Slovenia. In 2018, the Islamic community in Slovenia bought the building of the Merkur store and the surrounding area, where the aforementioned building will be renovated and used for the purposes of religious ceremonies. The goal of the task is to design a Muslim cultural center of regional character in the mentioned location and thereby present and show the potential of the wider area under consideration, as it is located in the industrial area of Maribor, near many factories, which represents an additional challenge in the design of the Muslim cultural center complex. With the new intervention in the space, the facilities of the Muslim cultural center will enable the relief of the location, and with their design and layout, they will separate industry from public and religious cultural work. The Muslim Cultural Center project provides an opportunity to create an innovative social environment. A clear pattern of land use and urban forms, this includes the dramaturgy of access, parking lots, the visible placement of buildings, the orientation of the prayer hall towards Mecca, the rest of the buildings follow the grid of the existing city.
