The broader problem framework addresses the implementation of open data into a web interface for easier overview and analysis of dependencies between this data. The task was designed around creating a functional and user-friendly web interface, allowing users to visualize data on average monthly gross and net salaries for legal entities in the public and private sectors in the Republic of Slovenia. With the help of this interface, transparency and openness in the field of salaries will be increased, and it will facilitate decision-making.
We decided to develop the web interface because it provides easy access to salary information and presents it to the user in a friendly manner, making it understandable even to those without statistical knowledge. The interface is designed around the idea of interactive use, which means that data display can be adjusted according to one's needs. The goal is also to show trends and patterns in the field of salaries in the Republic of Slovenia and their impact on purchasing power. With this, we want to make it easier for users to recognize changes and trends and assist them in making decisions.
The research brought the following findings:
- Exchange rates affect the value of salaries, as exchange rate changes can lead to an increase or decrease in wages.
- Consumer price indices influence the purchasing power of salaries, as an increase in indices can reduce purchasing power.
- Differences in average monthly gross and net salaries between legal entities in the public and private sectors existed, but they were decreasing during the analysis period.
