Abstract

Title:Challenges of production outsourcing in light of the stability issues of global supply chains
Abstract:
The thesis discusses the challenges faced in the outsourcing of business processes, particularly concerning the stability of global supply chains. In light of recent geopolitical events, such as trade disputes between the USA and China, the war between Ukraine and Russia, as well as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and global warming, the stability of global supply chains has weakened significantly, with significant consequences for the EU economy. With this thesis, I aimed to present outsourcing, offshoring and reshoring strategies. The goal was to illustrate the problems and solutions encountered by companies that are part of global supply chains. The objective of the thesis is to showcase the challenges faced by companies in outsourcing, especially when it comes to offshoring, concerning the stability of global supply chains and their influence on the reasons for relocating business processes to locations where the risk of destabilization is lower. I dedicated most of my time to the strategy of reshoring. I have come to the conclusion that, in the long term, this strategy could be a significant step towards stabilizing the global economy. However, in practice, it may take several years for this strategy to achieve significant success.
