Abstract
Proces vključevanja albansko govorečih posameznikov in posameznic v novo okolje in v vsakdanje življenje družbe sprejemnice (v mojem primeru v Slovenijo) je izjemno težak in dolgotrajen. V empiričnem delu sem o izkušnjah in morebitnih ovirah povprašala albansko govoreče posameznice in posameznike.

Title:Albanian-speaking individuals in Slovenia and aspects of their everyday lives
Abstract:
The inclusion process of Albanian-speaking individuals into a new environment and into the daily life of the host society (in my case, Slovenia) is an extremely difficult and long-term process. In the course of inclusion, they encounter obstacles, such as lack of knowledge of the Slovene language, being labelled as “different” by the majority of the population, having problems maintaining their identity, and so on. The aforementioned challenges are also presented in the thesis. For the empirical part of the thesis, I asked Albanian-speaking individuals about their experiences and possible obstacles, and they related their experiences. The thesis thus contains a set of people's experiences with the process of inclusion and other situations, which can be used by various organisations and people who want to contribute to a more intensive and better inclusion of Albanian people in the new environment. As a researcher, I was particularly interested in the experiences of people who came to Slovenia around 1999, when the war in Kosovo ended, that is, the experiences of people who have been here for two decades. The topic is important especially because of the large number of Albanians who immigrate to Slovenia, both from the point of view of the people who move to Slovenia, as well as those who are in contact with them. As social workers, we will very likely encounter migrant clients as well and this knowledge will be useful so that we can provide them with quality support on their journey. We must be sensitive to this topic and take into account that inclusion is a long-term process. Judging by the international definition of social work, it makes sense to take this fact into consideration and also expand our horizons in the field of migration and inclusion of immigrants.
