The thesis deals with the scanning of a roadway in the Velenje coal mine using a ZEB REVO handheld laser scanner. The purpose of scanning the mining roadway was to determine convergence emergences. The scanning of the mining roadway was carried out in five scheduled scanning runs, all of which were completed during February 2023. We used Cloud Compare and Rhino 3D to process the scans and obtain the results. The thesis includes a description and demonstration of the different laser scanners and a more detailed description of the handheld scanner used for the purpose of this thesis. The measurements and convergence of the cave line are covered by handheld laser scanning and by a levelling rule, which measured the dimensions of the cave track in three profiles. During the survey, the convergence of the mining roadway ranged from 0,25 m2 to 1,50 m2. Based on the results obtained, we concluded that the use of the levelling rule is a sufficient method for monitoring the convergence of the roadway in the Velenje coal mine. Using a portable laser scanner ZEB REVO, however, gives us a more complete picture and more information about the deformation of the mining roadway. Finally, the concrete results of the roadway convergences in the five timeframes are given.
