Abstract
Zapis poskuša reflektirati pozicijo novega ljubljanskega središča sodobne umetnosti v lupini nekdanje industrijske zgradbe, predvsem v odnosu do publike in okolja, znotraj katerega se ta nahaja.

Title:The interweaving of Cukrarna: A study of the relationships and pillars of the new institution
Abstract:
The text attempts to reflect on the position of the new centre for contemporary art in Ljubljana, especially in relation to the audience and the surrounding community. Through the lens of the new gallery's vision and its manifestation, the text raises the question of collaboration and participation between the institution and the visitor, as well as examines the adequacy of the conditions that supposedly enable this communication. In the context of the new institution's trials prior to its opening, the text reflects upon its connection with the local community. It examines how local actors fit into the programming and operation of the institution, especially those normally excluded from such institutions due to their unconventional backgrounds. Likewise, the relationship between Cukrarna and the many past identities of the building in which it is housed is considered. The text is a continuation of an earlier seminar paper written in 2021, prior to the public opening of the reinterpreted facility under study, and therefore thematically evades the broader issues already discussed.
