Dihydrotestosterone plays an important role in the development of humans, however it is a main culprit of androgenetic alopecia. Loss of hair can negatively impact one's self esteem and self-image, hence it's important that we have the tools to treat androgenetic alopecia. Current treatment options are effective, but their use can lead to the development of side effects which negatively impact the patient's mental health and sexual function. The development of novel treatment options such as administration of topical finasteride, mezotherapy with dutasteride, exosome therapy, paletet-rich plazma therapy, therapy with botox etc. will allow for more effective treatment of androgenetic alopecia with a smaller side effects profile.
