The Obdobja Symposium has three key elements, two of which - internationality and interdisciplinarity - are of particular relevance today. The third, connected with the overall cohesive theme, needs to be re-established: the considered expression of the current and complex issue of the humanities in Slovenia with an emphasis on language and literature, which can also be critically discussed by the international scholarly community. It thus represents a kind of distinguishing intellectual marker of the Obdobja Symposium, which also, to a great extent, gives it meaning.
