The aim of this thesis with the title A textile book that takes inspiration from art styles from the 20th century was to create a textile book which reveals personal aesthetics and relationship with art. The theoretical part is firstly focused on the color of blue, the history of the color and its meaning and use in art. It is continued with research about art styles of the 20th century, with focus on Abstract Expressionism. Second part of the theoretical part is focused on french artist Yves Klein and contemporary textile art with some of its representatives. The experimental part of my diploma thesis covers development and design of the spacial textile book, starting at the beginin of creative process, until the end result and presentation of each page of the book individually. The end result of my diploma thesis is a spatial textile book.
