Abstract
Pri diplomski nalogi sem raziskovala sinteze novih koordinacijskih spojin z uporabo liganda 2-kloropiridina. Sinteze so potekale z mešanjem izbranega liganda 2-kloropiridina in kovinskega iona v obliki soli v metanolu kot topilu. Pri polovici sintez sem dodala tudi kalijev tiocianat, KSCN. Raztopino sem refluktirala in nato filtrirala. Kristalizacija je potekala na dva načina. Del raztopine sem pustila na sobni temperaturi, da je kristalizacija potekala s pomočjo izhlapevanja topila. Drugi del raztopine pa sem postavila v hladilnik. Karakterizacija kristaliziranih produktov je vključevala uporabo različnih metod karakterizacije, kot so infrardeča spektroskopija, jedrska magnetna resonančna spektroskopija, elementna analiza in rentgenska strukturna analiza. Pri dveh reakcijah sta nastali že znani koordinacijski spojini, kjer se je ligand 2-kloropiridin koordiniral na kovinski kation. V preostalih primerih reakcij pa kristalinični produkt ni bil prisoten, ali pa se je izkazalo, da je nastali produkt le izhodna spojina ali enostavna sol. Rezultati te raziskave naj bi prispevali k boljšemu razumevanju procesov tvorbe koordinacijskih spojin z 2-kloropiridinom kot ligandom.

Title:SYNTHESES OF COORDINATION COMPOUNDS WITH 2-CHLOROPYRIDINE
Abstract:
In my thesis, I investigated the synthesis of new coordination compounds using the ligand 2-chloropyridine. The syntheses were conducted by mixing the selected ligand, 2-chloropyridine, and a metal ion in the form of a salt in methanol as the solvent. In half of the syntheses, I also added potassium thiocyanate, KSCN, to the reaction mixture. This was followed by reflux and filtration of the solution. Crystallization was conducted in two ways. Part of the solution was kept at room temperature so that crystallization could take place with the help of solvent evaporation. The other half of the solution was stored in a refrigerator. Characterization of the crystallized products involved various methods, including infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and X-ray structural analysis. In two reactions, already known coordination compounds were formed, where the ligand 2-chloropyridine coordinated to the metal cation. In the remaining reaction cases, the crystalline product was either absent or the resulting product turned out to be a starting compound or a simple salt. The results of this research are expected to contribute to a better understanding of the processes involved in the formation of coordination compounds using 2-chloropyridine as a ligand.
