The paper discusses old Slovene-language manuscripts from the perspective of several methods and disciplines that must collaborate in identification, description and analysis, as well as the computational processing and presentation of such complex (digital) objects. These methods span literary history, comparative studies, diachronic linguistics and classical historical studies, as well as specific methods relating to information technologies, such as the structuring of complex digital objects, language technologies and web application development.
