This comparative analysis serves as the foundation for a fashion collection designed in the subsequent practical section. We delve into concepts like modesty, moderation, and shame stemming from a Catholic upbringing, contrasting them with the boldness that defies these values. Reviewing the "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination" exhibition catalogue underscores the interplay between fashion and the Church. Designers Simone Rocha and Cecilie Bahnsen, representatives of a younger generation, are also explored for their shared contemporary romantic design ethos.
Using visual references from Kate and Lady Gaga, the collection is conceived through a collage and sketching process, reflecting a contemporary romantic style.
