Abstract

Title:Specificity of capturing mineral water and CO2 in the southern part of Pelagonia : diploma work
Abstract:
The Pelagonian basin is the largest basin in the Republic of North Macedonia and represents a significant hydrogeological structure The lithostratigraphic and structural geological construction of the Pelagonian Basin has made it possible for it to represent a significant hydrogeological structure within the Republic of North Macedonia, in which significant potential reserves of underground water and carbon dioxide (CO2) have accumulated. Some of the available groundwater reserves from the basin are currently used for water supply, irrigation as well as commercial potable water, and the carbon dioxide exploited at several sites is used in multi-purpose industry The appearance of mineral water and gas in Pelagonia can be connected to deep faults, ie tectonics within the Pliocene sediments. Namely, in the basal part, the Pliocene is built of coarse-grained material, sands and gravels, which are well permeable. Above this series, both horizontally, partly and vertically, variously permeable and impermeable sediments change. These formations are lower than the zone of water feeding, which is also a condition for the formation of the artesian outlet. Determine the real possibility of exploiting carbon dioxide gas - CO2, the horizons that are the carriers of the gas, the depth of their occurrence, determination of the hydrodynamic parameters of the outcrop and boreholes, gas reserves, the quantities of gas that can be extracted, definition the method and regime of gas exploitation during use.

Keywords:Pelagonija, carbon dioxide, exploratory-exploitation drilling, capture, outcrop, water-bearing - gas-bearing environments
