Abstract
Visoke temperature pri odrezavanju imajo negativen vpliv na obstojnost orodja in stanje obdelovanca, hkrati pa spremljanje temperatur pri procesih odrezavanja predstavlja velik izziv. Zaključno delo obravnava merjenje maksimalne temperature in opazovanje razporeditve temperaturnih polj na odrezkih ter spremljanje tvorbe in oblike odrezkov s pomočjo visokohitrostne infrardeče toplotne kamere. Preizkuse smo izvajali pri različnih rezalnih hitrostih in hladilno mazalnih metodah ter opazovali njihov vpliv na temperaturo, tvorbo in obliko odrezkov. Ugotovili smo, da je pri višji rezalni hitrosti temperatura odrezkov večinoma višja, efektivnost tehnologije MQL v primerjavi s struženjem v suhem pa je v našem primeru slaba. Analizirali smo tvorbo in obliko odrezkov ter pripadajoča temperaturna polja, ki smo jih primerjali s kalilno barvo odrezkov.

Title:Monitoring of chip formation in turning process via high-speed thermal imaging
Abstract:
High temperatures during cutting have a negative effect on tool life and the condition of the workpiece. Furthermore, the monitoring of the temperatures during the cutting process poses a significant challenge. This thesis focuses on measuring the maximum chip temperature and observing the distribution of temperature on the chips using a high-speed infrared thermal camera. Additionally, it studies the formation and the shape of the chips and it investigates the effects of cutting speed and cooling methods on temperature, formation, and shape of the chips. It was observed that higher cutting speeds generally result in higher chip temperatures. In our case, the MQL technology showed poor performance compared to dry turning. The thesis also includes the analysis of chip formation, shape, and temperature distribution which was further compared to chip color.
