Abstract
Metilsulfonilmetan (MSM) je organožveplova molekula, ki se zaradi svojih farmakoloških učinkov uporablja v prehranskih dodatkih. Žveplo je esencialni element, ki skrbi za imunski sistem, zmanjšuje vnetja in ga običajno vnesemo v telo s prehrano. S prehranskimi dodatki lahko MSM vnesemo v večjih koncentracijah. Namen moje diplomske naloge je bila določitev MSM v različnih prehranskih dodatkih s plinsko kromatografijo. Kasneje je sledila primerjava rezultatov z deklariranimi vrednostmi. Delo je obsegalo pripravo standardnih raztopin, pripravo vzorcev in delno validacijo metode. Preverila sem linearnost, ponovljivost in točnost metode. Rezultati analiz so se ujemali s teoretičnimi vrednostmi različnih prehranskih dodatkov.

Title:Determination of methylsulfonylmethane in dietary supplements by gas chromatography
Abstract:
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is an organosulphur molecule used in food supplements for its pharmacological effects. Sulphur is an essential element for the immune system, reduces inflammation and is normally taken into the body through the diet. MSM can be introduced in higher concentrations through food supplements. The aim of my thesis was to determine MSM in different food supplements by gas chromatography. The results were then compared with the declared values. The work included the preparation of standard solutions, sample preparation and partial validation of the method. I checked the linearity, repeatability and accuracy of the method. The results of the analyses agreed with the theoretical values of the different food additives.
