Dementia can occur at different stages of life. It is a "disease" in which a person loses abilities and skills as the condition progresses. Gradually, a person begins to forget his previous and current roles in life. The quality of life in all age periods is measured in the active spending of time and the experiences that a person experiences. The meaning of life is to spend every period of life as well as possible, regardless of the state of health. The period of COVID-19 has led us to various discoveries. Among other things, we found that regardless of health status, the same rules apply to everyone. We spent quite a few months in quarantine and had a curfew.
The parable of COVID-19 can bring us closer to the lives of people with dementia. Due to factors beyond our control, we have been forced to stay at home in bubbles. The interruption of all life activities that we were used to has led many people to emotional distress. We weren't allowed to hang out with friends we hang out with every day, we didn't go to bars, restaurants, training sessions, cinema, theater and shops.
With the help of research on the PKP project as part of the FSD faculty, I decided to create a documentary together with the AGRFT team, which will bring the life of people with dementia closer to all viewers.
