Today, more and more companies are facing the challenge of achieving high-quality and efficient maintenance of machines and equipment. The current culture in companies encourages individual departments to be as separate as possible, which the following methodology aims to change. The TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) method is a new direction in maintenance management and promotes the collaboration of all employees, from directors to production workers. The method relies on educating employees so they can independently perform simple maintenance tasks.
When applying the TPM method in practice, we presented the company with a draft of maintenance instructions for a semi-automatic wrapping machine. These instructions include the implementation of the 5-S method and the mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance. We also suggested two improvements to the company and presented a plan on how to achieve autonomous maintenance on the wrapping machine.
