Abstract
V magistrskem delu raziskujem pozabljen in propadajoči del moderne slovenske arhitekture 20. stoletja.

Title:
Conceptual renovation of the former Store and Post office in Vremski Britof - Renovation of the Karst community
Abstract:
In this thesis, I am researching a forgotten and decaying part of the modern Slovenian architecture of the 20. century. I am trying to understand this once significant central point of the village Vremski Britof in the surrounding Vreme valley, its importance and influence on the village inhabitants throughout periods from its very conception, to its abandonment and demise. The goal of the project is a revival of the building with a comprehensive renovation of the program in a sustainable and historically regarding way, which will in turn not only benefit the village, but also the entire valley as a cultural, touristic and life-important social gathering place. In the spirit of the collective effort of the four main members of Skupina Kras is the architectural solution only an upgrade of the existing design, which returns the program to an already simplistic design. In the assignment, I am also researching the history of the valley and the previous standing building and its relationship to the village. I undertake the renovation in phases - first phase is the renovation of the courtyard and cleansing the interiors, while the second phase is renovation of the building volumes. The end result is the revival of the village life through the new center, which, taking into account the history and identity of this forgotten karst village, restores its importance not only for locals, but also for passers-by and foreigners.
