This thesis describes development and testing of communication board for digital communication with unmaned aerial vehicle. Board will be integrated in the small unmaned aerial vehicle that we are currently developing in C-Astral d.o.o. Airplane will be used in civil and defense aplications.
Board was developed in software Altium designer based on internal requirements list. Board is based on digital radio module made by company Microhard with declared transmit power 30 dBm et. 1 W. Module is used for comunication with airplane (navigation and telemetry) and video transmission from onboard camera in defence version.
In this thesis, PCB design is presented, measurements of connection quality depending on UAV and GCS distance, measurements of transmitter output power and comparison of different types of antennas. Communication board and measurement hardware used are also described.
