The diploma thesis describes the process of developing a method for continuous evaluation of driver's situational awareness. The theoretical part is devoted to an in-depth study of situational awareness and its evaluation in automated driving systems. The aim of the thesis is to develop an evaluation method that takes into account factors such as intelligent transportation systems, is non-intrusive and has the potential to be applied to the real world. A better understanding of situational awareness increases trust in automated driving systems. Within the confines of the practical part, a user study was carried out using a driving simulator and a eye tracker. The data and videos obtained were processed using Python programming language and computer vision technology. The result is an objective and quantitative assessment of the driver's situational awareness.
