Slovenska izseljenska dramatika in njeno mesto v matični kulturi

Prispevek obravnava specifično družbeno vlogo slovenske izseljenske dramatike. Najproduktivnejši sta bili zlasti dve skupnosti: slovenska skupnost v ZDA pred drugo svetovno vojno in povojna slovenska skupnost v Argentini. Izrazito "interna" družbena vloga dramatike znotraj teh skupnosti se bistveno razlikuje od družbene vloge dramskih del mednarodno uveljavljenih avtorjev. To dejstvo se odraža tudi v spremenljivem odnosu matične Slovenije do izseljenske dramatike.

Abstract

The paper discusses a specific social function of Slovene émigré drama. The most productive in this field were playwrights from the Slovene emigrant community in the USA before World War Two and from the post-war Slovene emigrant community in Argentina. The predominantly "internal" social function of the drama produced within these communities differs essentially from the social function of the plays written by internationally recognized authors. This is also reflected in the changing interest in Slovenia proper in emigrant drama.
