Abstract
V biotehnologiji je pomembno optimizirati rastne pogoje organizma. To še posebej velja pri rastlinski biotehnologiji, saj rastline rastejo počasi in proizvedejo majhne količine metabolitov. Veliko študij se je osredotočilo na vpliv valovnih dolžin vidnega spektra na rast, razvoj in kopičenje metabolitov. Pri tem uporabljajo LED luči in najpogosteje kalusne kulture raznih rastlin. Rastlinski sekundarni metaboliti imajo nekaj prednosti pred sekundarnimi metaboliti drugih kraljestev. Imajo visok antioksidativen učinek, saj morajo rastlino obvarovati pred kisikovimi radikali, ki so bolj pogosti zaradi izpostavljenosti soncu. Poleg tega metaboliti delujejo tudi protitumorsko, protidiabetično, protirakavno in protimikrobno. Področje sekundarnih metabolitov v rastlinah je slabo raziskovano, kljub visokemu potencialu in velikemu številu biološko aktivnih snovi. Metabolne poti so slabo poznane in kemijska sinteza je skoraj nemogoča. V diplomskem delu se bom osredotočil na vpliv različnih valovnih dolžin na kopičenje sekundarnih metabolitov v kalusnih kulturah treh različnih vrst. Naloga bo zajemala antioksidativne, protidiabetične, protivnetne in protistarostne sekundarne metabolite. Na kratko bom tudi opisal, kako je svetloba vplivala na biomaso.

Title:The influence of light spectrum on the amount of synthesized medically important secondary metabolites in callus cultures of different plant species
Abstract:
In biotechnology, it is important to optimize the growth conditions of the organism. This is especially true in plant biotechnology, as plants grow slowly and produce a small amount of metabolites. Many studies have focused on the influence of visible wavelengths on growth, development and metabolite accumulation. They use LED lights and, most often, callus cultures of various plants. Plant secondary metabolites have some advantages over secondary metabolites from other kingdoms. They have higher antioxidant activity, as they must protect the plant from oxygen radicals, which are more common due to exposure to the sun. In addition, the metabolites also have antitumor, antidiabetic, anticancer and antimicrobial properties. The field of secondary metabolites in plants is poorly researched, despite the high potential and large number of biologically active substances. Metabolic pathways are poorly understood and chemical synthesis is almost impossible. In my thesis, I will focus on the influence of different wavelengths on the accumulation of secondary metabolites in callus cultures of three different species. The assignment will cover antioxidant, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory and antiaging secondary metabolites. I will also briefly describe how light affected biomass accumulation.
