Abstract
Cvetni prah osmukanec vsebuje številne bioaktivne molekule. Njegove koristne lastnosti so znane že iz časa prvih civilizacij. V kontekstu sodobne prehrane in popularnosti funkcionalnih živil se obeta povečanje njegove uporabe. V diplomski nalogi smo na podlagi literature zbrali in predstavili številne koristi za zdravje, ki jih ta čebelji pridelek ponuja. Ugotovimo lahko, da je osmukanec zelo kompleksno živilo s številnimi bioaktivnimi komponentami in učinkovitostmi. Najpomembnejša bioaktivna komponenta v njem so polifenoli, ki so v veliki meri zaslužni za različne bioaktivne lastnosti. Mehanizmi njegovega delovanja še niso dobro raziskani. Z rednim uživanjem osmukanca lahko zadostimo potrebam po vnosu številnih hranil. Še več koristi pa lahko dobimo, če ga premišljeno in načrtno vključimo v terapije, s katerimi lajšamo nekatera obolenja ali pa utrjujemo naše zdravje in odpornost. Pri tem so nam lahko v pomoč preparati, narejeni iz osmukanca, v katerih so določene učinkovine skoncentrirane in je zato njihov učinek močnejši. Žal je tovrstnih izdelkov na trgu še razmeroma malo, morda tudi zato, ker je surovina zelo raznolika in je težko doseči standardizirane, ponovljive in izenačene lastnosti izdelka.

Title:Bioactive properties of bee pollen
Abstract:
Bee pollen contains many bioactive molecules. Its usefulnesses has been known to people since the times of early civilisations. In the context of modern eating habits and the popularity of superfoods, the use of bee pollen is expected to rise. The goal of diploma thesis is to collect and present the many benefits that this bee product has on our health. We find, that it is a very complex food with numerous bioactive components and properties. The most important bioactive components are polyphenols which in great part contribute to its bioactive properties. Bee pollen's mechanism of action is still not well known. With the regular consumption of bee pollen we can meet the recommended bodily intake of many nutrients. We can get even more benefits if we thoughtfully incorporate it in certain therapies that alleviate some medical problems or simply strengthen our health and immune resistance. In order to achieve this, preparations made from bee pollen can be used, where certain active ingredients are concentrated and therefore their benefit is stronger. Unfortunately, there are currently relatively few such products on the market. Since bee pollen as raw material is very diverse, it is difficult to achieve standardized, reproducible and uniform product properties.
