The article recommends a more inclusive understanding of who are the authors of Slovene literature. It suggests that all writers, poets and dramatists of both sexes should be included inSlovene literature if they are connected to Slovenia by location, culture, ethnicity or language. Slovene authors are not only Slovenes living inside Slovenia with Slovene language as a mother tongue, members of Slovene transborder communites and Slovene emigrant communities, but also "new" minorities and immigrants (and their offspring), and constitutionally protected minorities living in Slovenia.
