Abstract

Abstract:
Kosovel's original poetic forms, such as the conses Spherical Mirror and Heart in Alcohol, which are the focus of this analysis, are not visual poetry: they open up into non-Euclidian space and address questions of anti-gravity. Kosovel found impulses for his work in Einsteinian physics, post-Euclidian geometry and Russian Constructivism. His conses induce mobile reading instead of the traditional cause-and-effect model of reading.

Keywords:ut pictura poiesis, visual poem, spatial poem, Constructivism, space, time, movement, Einstein, spherical geometry, Lissitzky, Ehrenburg, Khlebnikov
