Criminal offence neglect and abuse of a minor is included in the twenty-first chapter of the Slovenian Criminal Code, which combines criminal offences against marriage, family and children, in the article 192. First paragraph includes neglect of a minor and the second one includes abuse of a minor. This criminal offence protects the minor or his physical and mental development. To understand this criminal offence, we need to know other legal regulations, in particular the Slovenian Family Code. There were a lot of questions about the neglect and abuse of a minor, that's why I will analyse case-law about this paragraph in my thesis. I will also present the statistics of the number of convicted adult people and the number of criminal offences that were reported to the police.
