Abstract
Fröblova teorija predstavlja antitezo trenutnemu kurikulumu predšolske vzgoje in zagovarja tezo intuitivnega razvoja otrok in njihove povezanosti z naravo.

Title:
Fröbel's Garden of Eden: conceptual design of a timber kindergarten in Vavta vas
Abstract:
In my master's thesis, I address the current problem of a lack of spatial capacity in the existing Krkine lučke kindergarten in the Vavta vas settlement in the Dolenjska region. Currently, there are four units operating under the auspices of the kindergarten, with the main unit located near the Vavta vas primary school. Increased enrollment necessitated additional spatial capacity, and the additional units are located in various locations within the settlement. In the thesis, I explore new educational content of the preschool curriculum, based on the theory of the German pedagogue Friedrich Fröbel, who views the kindergarten as children's paradise garden. In the theory section, I explore the development and history of preschool education, as well as the current pedagogical practices. The project then focuses on Fröbel's theory and its interpretation in a contemporary spatial context. The thesis represents an experimental attempt to implement Fröbel's ideas, the theory of the silent teachings of nature, into an increasingly utilitarian and consumption-oriented contemporary society. The design of the new facility therefore integrates nature into the kindergarten with the aim of offering children the possibility for further exploration, education and play. Fröbel's theory represents an antithesis to the current preschool curriculum and promotes the idea of children's intuitive development and their intricate connection with nature.
