The rapid development of internet technologies has created new trends in web design. This has been important in particular for mobile devices. In response to these challenges, a new approach was introduced, which Marcotte (2010) called responsive design. The aim of this master's thesis was the evaluation of responsive design on specific aspects of entry pages of web survey tools. Based on a literature review of responsive design guidelines we found that this kind of design should include: automatic resizing of images, adjusting the size of buttons, using intelligent features of mobile devices and adjusting the page layout to the resolution of device. Based on empirical analysis, where we systematically compared web survey tools and carried out a series of usability tests with end users on two tools, the results suggest that the design of administrative interface of entry pages of a web survey tool should be in line with the following recommendations: highlighting of buttons, appropriate navigation layout using »hamburger« menu, functionality hidden in the form of an icon and enabling options to display surveys in folders.
